At Little Explorers, we care deeply about the world our children are growing up in, and we’re committed to doing our part to protect it. That’s why we follow the Department for Education’s guidance on Sustainability Leadership and Climate Action Plans in Education. We have a dedicated Sustainability Lead who helps us make thoughtful, eco-friendly choices every day — from reducing waste and saving energy to making the most of our wonderful outdoor spaces. This helps ensure our nurseries run in a way that’s kinder to the planet and sets a positive example for the children in our care.
Our approach is built around four key themes: reducing our carbon footprint, preparing for a changing climate, supporting local nature, and helping children learn about the environment in simple, meaningful ways. Whether we’re planting flowers to attract wildlife, exploring nature with the children, or introducing small daily habits that make a big difference, we’re always looking for ways to be more sustainable. By weaving these values into nursery life, we’re not only meeting national expectations — we’re helping our little explorers develop a lifelong love for the world around them
